Well, it only took another 3 days of proof to convince my friend that the Sundays did Wild Horses. Took me getting him to download the frickin album it was on and play the song.

Seriously, I would think that the link to the official/unofficial site for Mazzy Star saying they DIDN'T record Wild Horses would have been enough. Oh well.
Gotta love official/unofficial sites.

ETA: He is being an ass. He lied saying he believed me. Oy Oy Oy He never downloaded the album, he just wanted me to shut up. Now I am pissed off again.

-----

I am rereading all the Black Company books. Glen Cook might just be my favorite author. The Black Company books are my favorite series.

I also read Cook's Dread Empire Omnibus. Very good read.

-----

My inlaws are moving to Adel. This I feel is a good thing overall.

MIL take 2 is much cooler than original MIL, thanks to Prozac (Paxil, whatever she is on, it works).

Inlaws plan to build a duplex and let us move into half of it. Should cut our rent in about half. WOO HOO for getting to save some bucks.

I even like where they plan to build the duplex, a little far from the center of town (where everything is) but very pretty.

Yeah, I hope they move this summer and not next summer like they are considering.

------

I start school for the 14th try in the Spring.

I am cool with this so far (its still a ways away).

13 failures at school are kinda hard to live down.

But I am in the best place mentally that I have been in my life, so I really think I can do it this time.

I have a great support system in place too.

------

I attended the localish DBSA (Depression and Bipolar Support Association) meeting a couple weeks ago.

It was boring and entirely too preachy for me.

I won't be going back.

I don't believe in God please don't shove him down my throat.

------

Vonage Rocks as a phone company.

-----

OK, this is a long enough post without anything worth while in it.

So I will go.

PEACE

~Kval

    <lj:music>Sundays - Wild Horses</lj:music>

OK, I know that the Sundays covered Wild Horses by the Stones.

I also know that Mazzy Star DID NOT cover Wild Horses by the Stones.

How do I convince my friend that the version he has from the Sundays is not in fact by Mazzy Star?

His arguement is "I HAVE IT". Meaning he downloaded from some site.

I have also gotten a version of the song by "Mazzy Star" which is actually the Sundays version.

Oy, give me a headache.

Anyhow, he is being a stubborn ass. I have given him a plethora of links where it says that the song is NOT by Mazzy Star but he still persists.

Such is the complexness of my life right now.

~Kval

TNA SLAMMIVERSARY Thoughts

Again I didn't actually watch the PPV, just read the reports. Here are my thoughts on what happened.

I like the Suicide character, Kaz does a great job. I am glad he retained the X-Division Champion. As I don't really care for any of the other participants in the match.

Shane Douglas got a severely sprained ankle at the beginning of his match with Daniels. That sucks. The match "never got out of first gear" because of this. So who knows if the match would have been good.

Lisa Marie Varon (Tara, formerly Victoria) had no chance of winning the title over Angelina Love. Seriously, she has only been in TNA for a month. She is a great wrestler and a tough lady. I wouldn't want to fight her. I look forward to seeing where TNA takes Tara in the future. BTW, I hate the Tara Rising thing... WCW had Terra Ryzing (now known as HHH in WWE) back in 1993, the gimmick FLOPPED. Anyhow, here's hoping that Tara has better luck with the name :)

Daffney takes a BUMP into the tacks. OWIE. To quote her twitter "Holy F*#k that was evil....Slamathumbtackery". I love me some Daffney. Raven also took a BUMP into the tacks. Abyss and Taylor Wilde get the win. Yeah, would have LOVED to see this match.

I totally detest Matt Morgan. Glad Sting beat him. I would have totally hated seeing Matt in the Main Even Mafia, even if I find the MEM stupid. They get a lot of air time on Impact and Matt just would have dragged the whole concept down even further.

Beer Money had to beat 3D. Yep, I said it.

OK, the main event.
I don't like Kurt Angle as champ.
I couldn't see Mick Foley retaining.
I couldn't see AJ Styles winning.
Samoa Joe is legitimately hurt and has no business in the ring right now.
And Jeff Jarret is a shadow of his mediocre at best self. Yeah, call me a Jarret hater, its ok.

I understand that TNA is trying to keep us guessing, but the Nation of Violence gimmick was kinda cool. Joe beating up MEM members was fun. Having him turn heel and helping Kurt win the title is just totally wrong. Joe should have stayed a tweener. We liked him there.

Kurt winning the title is just a let down. I think I would have preferred Foley keeping it, or hell even Jarret winning again would be preferable to me. No, I don't think I am a Kurt Angle hater, I really admire his work, but seriously, he is an excellent championship chaser.

Overall, I think that TNA pulled a winner of a show out of SLAMMIVERSARY.

Yes, I know its all scripted, but its fun.

Yes, these are my opinions and mine only (well, others may share them, but I have not talked to anyone, so they are MINE, MINE I SAY).

Yes, TNA puts on a better show than WWE right now.

Yes, I know I ignored the pre-PPV match. Sorry I am a British Invasion hater too.

Yes, I know no one cares about professional wrestling (not true, but a majority of you don't).

So concludes my thoughts on TNA's Slammiversary.

~Kval

Nothing too exciting going on here.

I finally got around to getting my mom her birthday present (her birthday is in Janruary).

I ordered my brother's birthday present (his was on June 3rd).

I ordered my dad's birthday present (his bday is June 30th, hey look, I'm ahead on this one).

Other than that. I did my daily walking (been walking for about a month now, every day, big deal for me). Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, and Bad Cholestrol all have improved from my walking. I do walk indoors cuz the weather sucks and I hate the sun.

A couple big storms hit here. Knocking down big branches. Minor flooding in the area. Dark and Dismal most of the time.

That's it, another worthless update from me.

~Kval

Restaurant Review

T, her parents and I went to Patrick's here in Adel, Iowa tonight.

While the building did not look like we expected it was nice enough. It looked like a bunch of tables put in an office building (which is technically what it is). But it was very clean, very well let, and overall a nice place.

The wait staff was incredible, then again we went early enough we avoided any dinner time rush. They were persistent without being annoying.

The food was really good, at least I can vouch for my steak and have to assume that my family would not lie about their food. The portions were large and everything looked good.

Definitely a do again for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I would so recommend this restaurant for anyone who is coming to the Adel area. (Not that many people do).

Yours in Stuffedness.

~Kval

EQ was like 10 years ago now.

It was very nice to hear from him. He was (is) a good friend and we just lost touch.

Man do I love the internet.

Peace

~Kval

T and I went to my parents for dinner tonight. Steak, Baked Potato, Corn of the Cob and Fruit Salad. A traditional mid-western meal (if you added some kind of bread). It was really good. Mom doesn't grasp get the pink out of steaks for me and my brother, but she does a good job overall.

Dad looked much better tonight than he did last night. Said he slept a lot last night and today so I think that it really did him some good. Still hoping he gets better soon.

Now I am done with familial obligations for a while at least. My aunt heads back to Kentucky on Wednesday morning, so I don't have to worry about seeing her and my cousin again. My parents are used to me only visiting them once or twice every couple of months. Yeah, I love my parents, but I am not a visiting kind of person.

I did get to snatch all the leftover steak. Gonna turn it into Bar-B-Q beef. Yeah, some may consider it sacrilege to BBQ filets, but hey, they make most excellent BBQ beef.

Peace to you good peoples

~Kval

I have lost about 40 pounds in the last 4 months. Not because of dieting, just happened. (went from 236 to 194 for the record).

I look a lot better with the lost weight. My dad even commented on my weight loss and he is the most unobservant person I know.

My "doctor" is a bit worried about my weight loss. I don't know what to think at this time.

If the weight loss continues then I think I will be concerned, until then I think I will just enjoy my smaller size.

No clue why I posted this.

~Kval

Went to see my aunt. She is doing well as far as I can tell. My cousin was there too. Have a ton of cousins, but this is the one who normally travels with my aunt. It was nice to see them both as its been a year. Wish they would not come when my in-laws were also in town, that way I could actually spend a good amount of time with them. Oh well, seems that both like to travel at the same time so both will just have to accept that I can't be in two places at one time.

My Dad looks like Hell. His left leg and foot are so swollen it looks painful. I would not be happy with the swelling in the least bit. Holy crap. He said it does not hurt, but that it is not comfortable. Any way I look at it, it has to suck.

My Mom is doing as well as normal. She got a very short-term job sometime at the end of this month. She is going to be a live rescue dummy for Fort Dodge. They are gonna do make-up and tell her how to react and what to say. Basically put her in a staged serious accident and let the rescue personell rescue her (and many others I assume).

My Bro is doing well, he is really hoping to get the job in the NOC. Rumor going around is he is gonna get Tier 4. I really hope he gets promoted to somewhere. He is an excellent worker who gets along with just about everybody. He really deserves to get a couple steps ahead. He had to go to work so I didn't get to spend a lot of time with him. But its always nice to see him.

Was odd driving for the first time in a LONG time. Don't get me wrong, I am still an excellent driver, just felt a little weird. Probably been 6 to 8 months since I drove any distance.

We (T, MIL, and I) went to the Farmer's Market downtown Des Moines this morning. Walked around for an hour and half. Got some fruit and a plant and some flavorless egg rolls (T like em). Hurt like Hell afterwords. But it was kinda fun to be out and about. Only kinda freaked out with the 500ish people there. Don't know if I will ever be able to be completely comfortable in a big crowd again. Thus I don't go to concerts or live events. Me and crowds just don't mesh anymore. Oh well.

Took a nap after that. Was hurting, best way to deal with hurting is to sleep through it. So that is what I chose to do. Hope it doesn't muck with my sleeping tonight, but I doubt it will.

After my nap I got my hair cut. A serious hair chopping ensued. About 6 inches off. Now my hair is short once again. That's ok, it will probably be another year before I get my hair cut again. My MIL cuts my hair, does a good job too. Plus its free. All good there.

Now its almost 6 o'clock. Figure that my FIL is still about 2 or so hours out. Driving across Nebraska sucks, I don't envy him having to do that drive solo. Much better to do it with someone else to keep you attentive. Good thing he isn't trying to break any time records and can stop whenever he needs to.

T and MIL are headed to the Hobby Lobby to get more beeds. Do not understand this new hobby they have both become somewhat obsessed with, but hey, its relatively cheap and it's something for them to do, so more power to them.

I am just gonna chill here at the house for the rest of tonight. Yeah, I lead THE exciting life.

Later

~Kval
